A course that looks at common BMPs and their function. We look at evaluating the BMP to determine if it is the right measure for the need. Discussion on limitations of BMPs and developing a complete BMP tool box. The training includes an "indoor" site inspection where photos and plans will be evaluated to determine how a BMP is working, what may be causing failures and discussions of solutions and options.

Randall Shuey has over 25 years experience working with contractors on projects. Projects have ranged from environmentally sensitive coastal projects to large scale projects. His work includes working with the design team, developing SWPPPs and construction strategies and working with contractors to meet both construction and environmental permit goals. Besides being a CPESC and CESSWI, he is a soil scientist and wetland . Mr. Shuey has served as the president of the Northeast Chapter IECA and is a past member of both the CPESC and CESSWI Councils.

IECA is the foremost organization for those involved in or concerned about soil erosion control. Membership (in IECA) tells others you take erosion control seriously and you want to help make a difference.
